I am a fifty-something man following a call I don’t always
understand but cannot ignore, learning how to do God’s work
and what work He wants me to do. The title comes from the
second verse of The Summons, a hymn which goes a good way
towards defining my situation:
“Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in me?”
